Clyde Alvin Nicholson, 52, of Talihina, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2003. He was born Sept. 22, 1950 at McAlester to Clyde Everett Nicholson and Opal Edith Bell-Nicholson. He served in the U.S. Navy Seabees during the Vietnam era and was well known for his abilities as a heavy equipment operator. He loved hunting and fishing and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Talihina where he lived most of his life. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Edith and J.B. Fitzgerald of Talihina, Wanda Kennedy of Yuba City, Calif., Dorothy and Carrol Fitzgerald of Talihina; two nephews, Alan Fitzgerald and Charles Fitzgerald; three nieces, Janet McMahan, Brenda Fitzgerald and Karen Yonge; 14 great-nieces and nephews, Clint McMahan, Jessica McMahan, Craig Price, Kyle Price, Brittany Yonge, Kourtney Yonge, Kylie Fitzerald, Keith Price, Taylor Yonge, Austin Fitzgerald, Clay Fitzgerald, Tanner Fitzgerald, Cord Fitzgerald and Chesnee Fitzgerald; four aunts, Ester Twony, Myrl Dukes, Anne Lee Nohlety and Jeneva Bell; and one uncle Tom Bell. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 22 at the Talihina First Baptist Church with the Rev. Carrol Fitzgerald officiating. Burial will follow in Old Talihina Cemetery under the direction of Talihina Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Joe Huggins, Vic Rogers, Garry Kennedy, Larry Kennedy, Wayne Talley and Robert Demarest.
