Gene Partain, 82, of Spiro, passed away Wednesday, April 16, 2003, in Fort Smith, Ark. He was born Jan. 27, 1921 at Spiro to Odie and Ophelia (Mann) Partain. He was a member of the Murry Spur Freewill Baptist Church, Spiro East Water Board, a World War II veteran and retired from Pacific Telephone and Telegraph. Survivors include his wife Ida Ann Partain of the home; and numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 19 at the Murry Spur Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. C.L. Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Spiro. Pallbearers will be Bud Stout, Bud Cosgrove, J.L. Williams, J.E. McKinney, Wayne Davis, Bill Autry and Mike Pope. |
