Rainey Slater
POTEAU — Rainey Lloyd Slater, 19, of Poteau died Thursday, Nov. 21,
2002, in Fayetteville. He was born June 22, 1983, in Fort Smith. He was
a graduate of Poteau High School in 2000, a sophomore at University of
Arkansas in Fayetteville and a member of First United Methodist Church
in Poteau.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church in
Poteau with burial at Quinton Cemetery in Quinton, Okla., under the
direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.
He is survived by his parents, Bill and Sandra Slater of Poteau; a
sister, Kim Slater of Poteau; a brother, Jeff Slater of Oolagah, Okla.;
maternal grandparents, Shelby and Dorothy Goodwin of Fort Worth, Texas;
paternal grandmother, Maxine Slater of Kinta.
Pallbearers will be Mark Eidschun, Ross Ridenour, Ryan Mahoney, J.T.
Quinn, Jeff Slater and Doug Spearman.

Thursday, Nov. 21, 2002, at Fayetteville, Ark. He was born June 22, 1983
at Fort Smith. He was a sophomore at University of Arkansas -
Fayetteville. He graduated from Poteau High School in May 2000. He was a
member of the First United Methodist Church of Poteau.
Survivors include his parents, Bill and Sandra Slater of the home; one
sister, Kim Slater of Poteau; one brother, Jeff Slater of Oologah;
maternal grandparents, Shelby and Dorothy Goodwin of Fort Worth;
paternal grandmother, Maxine Slater of Kinta; numerous other relatives
and loved ones; and a host of beloved friends.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 25 at First United Methodist
Church of Poteau with the Revs. Larry Gaston and Dawna Dhaenens
officiating.
Burial will follow in Quinton Cemetery under the direction of Evans
& Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.
