John Woodrow Toney Opal Mae Toney Brown, 86, of Shady Point, passed away June 16, 2008, in Poteau. She was born Oct. 20, 1921, in Spiro. She was a homemaker and a member of the Gospel Tabernacle in Poteau. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Woodrow Toney; son, Eugene Toney; three brothers and six sisters. She is survived by her husband James Brown; daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Barry Prock, of Garber; son Charles Toney of Calhoun; a son and daughter-in law Wayne and Patricia Toney, of Calhoun; a brother Jess Sutton of Oxnard, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; step children, Tina Morris, of Panama, Chesten Brown, of Panama, Terry Bryan, of Illinois; numerous other relatives, friends and loved ones. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 10 a.m. at Evans Chapel of Memories in Poteau with Reverend Lawrence Daniels and Reverend Carl Daniels officiating. Interment will be at Shady Point Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Shane Toney, Dustin Prock, Jarrod Cloud, John Perry, Charles Toney and Barry Prock.
