Leona Artebel Woods, 94, of Muse, passed away Sunday, Sept. 28, 2003.
She was born July 24, 1909 in Big Cedar, Okla. to William Jackson and
Tennessee Snow Simmons-Smith. She was a homemaker and of the Pentecostal
faith. She was a beloved mother and grandmother who loved to quilt and
take care of her family. She was active in her church and was always
there to help.
she was preceded in death by her husband; parents; two infant children;
a son-in-law, Loyd Hilburn; one grandson, Loyd Hilburn Jr; four
brothers; and three sisters.
Survivors include one daughter, Bernice Hilburn of Hugo; one son and
daughter-in-law, Leon and Juanita Woods of Klamath Falls, Ore.; five
grandchildren, Tommie Brannan of Wright City, Lonnie Hilburn of Hugo,
Darlene Radford of Mantica, Calif., Mike Woods of Bend, Ore. and Keven
Woods of Lake View, Ore.; 11 great-grandchildren; seven
great-great-grandchildren, including her baby Jay; two sisters, Eunice
Blevins of Dunsmar, Calif. and Cleoria McGill of Mt. Shasta, Calif.; one
sister-in-law, Evalee Woods of Muse; numerous nieces, nephews; and a
host of friends.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2 at the Muse
Cemetery with the Rev. Raymond Humphrey officiating, under the direction
of Talihina Funeral Home.
