Norman "Baker" Bourne, 73, of Bokoshe, died Thursday, Nov. 30, 2000. He was born May 6, 1927 in Bokoshe. Mr.
Bourne was a retired coal miner and a lifelong resident of the area. He was a loving husband, father and
grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Lorene Bourne, of the home; his children, Gary and Mary Sue Bourne of Spiro,
Carolyn and Larry Laymon, Pam and Leslie Garner, Sandy and Steve Carter, and Randy and Eady Bourne, all of
Bokoshe; his grandchildren, Mike and Dee Dee Laymon of Bixby, Curtis Laymon and Amy Gamble of McCurtain, Brian
Bourne of Spiro, Angie and Mike Culwell of Poteau, Samuel Carter and Ashley Bourne, both of Bokoshe, and Jonathan Carter of Panama; his great-grandchildren, Brett Laymon, Amanda
Laymon, Wesley Bourne, Brianna Bourne, and Trevor Bourne; his brothers, Clarence Bourne of Tulsa and David "Duster" Bourne of Pocola; his sisters
Naomi McKinney and Mabel McKinney, both of Bokoshe, Bessie Lee Lewis of Artesia, N.M., and Lou Bryant of
Terlton; numerous other relatives and loved ones; a host of beloved friends.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, at Old Bokoshe Cemetery in Bokoshe with the Rev. Cotton
McKinney and the Rev. Anthony McKinney officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Evans and Miller
Funeral Home of Poteau.
