Earl L. Brown Jr., 70, of Buchanan, Mich., passed away Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2001, in Poteau. He was born June
28, 1931 in Bokoshe. He was an Army veteran and a member of LaRue Messenger American Legion Post No. 26 of
Niles, Mich.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Earl Sr. and Gladys (Young) Brown; and one brother, Louis
Brown.
Survivors include his wife Jeannette of the home; three daughters and sons-in-law, Janice and Dan Furr of
Dharhran, Saudi Arabia, Kathy and Jim Fesperman of Poteau and Linda and Tom Teel of Big Cabin; one son and
daughter-in-law, Dave and Sandy Brown of Benton Harber, Mich.; two sisters, Elizabeth Bills of Kinta and Patsy
Brooks of Bokoshe; two brothers, George Brown of Boksohe and Bobby Brown of Carlsbad, N.M.; 13
grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and loved ones; and a host of beloved
friends.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 17 at First Baptist Church in Bokoshe with the Rev. Garry Haskins
officiating. Burial will follow in Old Bokoshe Cemetery under the direction of Evans & Miller
Funeral Home of Poteau.
There will be a memorial service for Mr. Brown at 2 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church in Niles, Mich. on Tuesday,
Nov. 20 with the Rev. Alan Poage officiating. The family will be receiving friends one hour before the service.
