Erma Sharp, 97, of Bokoshe, died Sunday, Dec. 10, 2000, in Oklahoma City. Mrs. Sharp was born July 12, 1903, to Hiram and May Griffin Hammond in Milton Indian Territory, LeFlore County. She was a longtime resident of Bokoshe. She married Ben Sharp September 1920 and they moved from Milton to Bokoshe in 1945. After her husband's death in 1990 she moved to Oklahoma City. Mrs. Sharp was a homemaker and a good cook and lived for her home and family. She reserved a special place for LeFlore County in her heart and the people of Eastern Oklahoma. Erma meant something different to each of us. We loved her and she will be missed.
She is survived by her daughter, Mildred and her husband Bob Taylor of Oklahoma City; one son, Lynford Sharp of Abilene, Texas; six grandsons, Michael Taylor and his wife Kathy of Yukon, Gene Taylor and his wife Gayle Wiliamson of Cortez, Colo., Michael Callahan and his wife Susan of Fargo, N.D., Patrick Callahan and David Callahan, both of Cincinnati, Ohio, Gregory Sharp and his wife Cindy, of Bossier City, La.; granddaughters Bonnie Taylor Askew of Norman, and Ruth Taylor Ellison and her husband Chris of Kansas City, Beverly Sharp Keun and her husband Kevin, Carol Sharp Warren and her husband Chris Warren, all of Oklahoma City, Ben Cole of Bossier City and Dillon Warren of Oklahoma City; great-grandsons, Preston Taylor Askew and wife Sharla of Tahoka, Texas, Robert Taylor of Oklahoma City, Isaac Taylor Ellison of Kansas City, Kan., Zachary Callahan of Fargo, David Keun of Oklahoma City; great-granddaughters, Lisa Taylor Hendricks of Oklahoma City, Jennifer and Melissa Askew, both of Norman, Kaeli Ellison of Kansas City, Amada Callahan of Cincinnati, and Jennifer Zoe Callahan of Fargo; great-great-grandchildren Brady and Jynna Askew, both of Tahoka, Christin Haines, Nicholas and Megan Hendricks, all of Oklahoma City.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 14 at the First Baptist Church of Bokoshe. Burial will follow in
Milton Cemetery under the direction of Baggerley Funeral Home of Oklahoma City.
Pallbearers will be Michael Taylor, Gene Taylor, Robert Taylor, Chris Ellison, Greg Sharp, Michael Callahan, Pat Callahan, David Callahan and Preston Taylor Askew.
