Tommy Tanksley, 62, of Broken Arrow, died Monday, Jan. 22, 2001 in Tulsa. He was born Nov. 20, 1938 in Bokoshe. Mr. Tanksley was a veteran and a member of the Hope Worship Center of Tulsa. He was a 1956 graduate of Bokoshe High School and loved fishing, traveling, spending time with his grandson and all his children. He lived life to the fullest, kept the faith and fought the good battle. He had a very strong will to live. He was a class A assembler at Yuba Heat Transfer of Tulsa.
Survivors include wife Judy Tanksley of the home; one daughter, Sondra Mullis of Tulsa; one stepdaughter, Billye Flanary of San Diego, Calif.; one stepson, Robert Gamble of Dallas, Texas; one grandson, Shawn Mullis of Tulsa; one sister, Mildred of Brownsville; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and loved ones; and a host of beloved friends.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 24 at 1st Assembly of God Church in Bokoshe with the Rev. Lynn Bullard officiating. Burial will follow in
Old Bokoshe Cemetery under the direction of Evans and Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.
