POTEAU - Ruth Philpott Wheat, 83, of Poteau died Tuesday, June 12, 2002, in Poteau. She was born March 14, 1919, in Gilliam. She was a homemaker and a medical aide and a member of First Baptist Church in Poteau. She was the widow of Seth Wheat.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church in Poteau with burial at
Oakdale Cemetery, Heavener under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.
She is survived by two daughters, Kathryn Ferguson of Nowata, Okla., and Sue Queen of Westville, Okla.; three sons, Don and Gene Wheat, both of Poteau, and Billy Wheat of Heavener; a sister, Rowena Williams of San Bernadino, Calif.; eight grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
