William Birdtail
SALLISAW - William "Bill" Birdtail, 82, of Vian died Saturday, Nov. 4, 2000, in Sallisaw. He was a retired construction worker and worked for OG&E. He was a Baptist and the widower of Flora Washington Birdtail.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Agent Chapel in Gore with burial at Redbird Smith Cemetery north of Vian.
He is survived by four daughters, Marie Elbon of Blackgum, Okla., Susie Abshere of Muskogee, Okla., Rosie Watts and Lora Cortez, both of Gore; seven sons, Richard of Newalla, Okla., Leon of Marble City, Okla., Henry of Porum, Okla., George and Hank, both of Tybee Island, Ga., Marvin of Mountainburg and Roy of Alma; two sisters, Maggie McElhaney of Vian and Susie Spencer of Fort Gibson; one brother, Lee Birdtail of Muskogee; 27 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Luis Cortez, Richard Elbon, Eric Spears, and Marvin, Roy, Jerrald, Robert and Norman Birdtail.
The body may be viewed from 1 to 8 p.m. today, and an all-night wake will be at the funeral home.
