Helen Loretta Hayes, 69, of Olivehurst died Dec. 10, 2001, at Rideout Memorial Hospital. She was a Yuba-Sutter resident for 51 years. Born March 25, 1932 in Kinta, Haskell County Oklahoma. As a child she, as well as her brothers and sisters, with their parents had dreams of better things out west. So off they went to California in the 40s.
Survivors include two sons, Phillip Aulston of Olivehurst and Earl Hearon of Shady Point, Okla.; two daughters, Judy Mutter and Lavelle Mathias, both of Olivehurst; two brothers, Jerry Douglas of Olivehurst and Kenneth Douglas of Colorado; five sisters, Kathy Brown, Vicki Fultz and Cleo Maddox, all of California, Freda Keffer of Nevada and Faydean Burke of Alaska,
11grandchildren & nine great granchildren and a host of nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Garvey Cortez and Jewell Fleta (Dunn) Palmer, two brothers, Edward Douglas and Glen Douglas; and three sisters, Effie Hearon, Mary Arriola and Naydean Smith.
Services: Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hutchison and Carnes Funeral Chapel. A service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, also at the chapel. Burial will be in Sierra View Memorial Park Marysville, California.
