Bass McGuire
STIGLER - Bass Little McGuire, 101, of Stigler died Wednesday, Sept. 11 2002, in Stigler. He was a farmer and
operated a store and filling station, worked as a peace officer in various positions in Stigler and Oklahoma
State Prison in McAlester, was under-sheriff for six years and was elected sheriff of Haskell
County in 1953. He was the widower of Valma Hunter McGuire.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Mallory Funeral Home Chapel in Stigler with burial at Garland Cemetery in
Stigler.
He is survived by a daughter, Norma Hassler of Waco, Texas; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will
be Steve Hart, Connie, Ronnie, Kenneth and John McGuire, Bob and Estel Reavis and Clinton Garland.
