Samuel Joseph "Sam" Nickles, 24, of Zafra passed away Friday, July 12, 2002. He was born Oct. 13, 1977 in Mena, Ark. He was a truck driver by profession, a loving father, son and nephew.
Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Johnnie and Hugh Edwards of Zafra; two sons, Austin Nickles and Dakota Nickles, both of Zafra; one uncle and aunt, Lloyd and Ruth Self of Mena; one aunt, Joyce Ann Dunn of Poteau; one cousin, Renee Veal of Mena; and a host of other family and friends.
Services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 15 in the Zafra Church of Christ with Riley Donica officiating. Burial followed at noon in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Big Fork, under the direction of Beasley-Wood Funeral Home of Mena.
Pallbearers were Danny Hall, Steve Bradley, Kevin Taylor, Steven Self, Brandon Veal and Jerry Hopper.
Honorary pallbearers were Ron Rogers and Wayne Hall.
