Willie Dodson-Steel
HIGHLAND, Calif. - Willie "Mickie" Dodson-Steel, 59, of Highland, formerly of Fort Smith, died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2001, in McLean, Texas. She was a member of Solid Rock Community Fellowship in Clarksville where she was the organizer of the Community Youth Choir and the award-winning Spirituallettes chorale in Fort Smith. She served on the Board of Evangelism of the Gospel Workship of America and was a minister.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in Eastside Baptist Church with burial at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Rowell-Parish Mortuary.
She is survived by her husband, James; a daughter, Angela D. Dodson of Fort Smith; two stepdaughters, Lisa Collins of Highland and Rhoneshea Steel of Henderson, Nev.; five sons, the Rev. Theodore A. Dodson III and pastor Douglas H. Dodson, both of Fort Smith, minister James A. Dodson of Detroit, Mich., Warren S. Dodson Sr. of San Diego and the Rev. William D. Dodson of Clarksville; a sister, minister Barbara Louise Mason of Inglewood, Calif.; and 13 grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Sam Smith, Kevin Moore, Michael Hinkle, Rodney Coorbin, Stanley Whitmore and Edward James.
The family will visit with friends at 2521 S. 56th St.
