Mrs. Ressie Alene Vaughn
Services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 8, 1975, at the Horton-Barrett Funeral Chapel in Sherman, Texas, for Mrs. Ressie Aline Vaughn. Mrs. Vaughn, who was 78 years old, died Thursday, March 6, 1975, in a Denison nursing home. She had resided at 822 Hyde Park, Denison, Texas.
Reverend Don Elmore of the Grayson Bible Baptist Church will officiate.
Burial will be in Cedarlawn Memorial Park, Sherman, Texas, under direction of Horton-Barrett Funeral Home, Inc., of Sherman.
Pallbearers will be William Vaughn, Thomas Vaughn, Jerry Vaughn, Otis Simmons, Ronnie Simmons, and Jerry Simmons. Honorary pallbearers will be James Vaughn, Steve White, Ben Jones, Roger Vaughn, and Larry Stevens.
Mrs. Vaughn was born in Gainesville, Texas, on April 2, 1896. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.B. Davis. She and S.M. Vaughn were married December 23, 1911. She was a member of the Grace Temple Baptist Church.
Surviving are daughters Mrs. J.B. White and Mrs. J.C. Simmons of Denison and Mrs. Nellie Bray of Vernon; brothers Lance and Leonard Davis of Bakersfield, California; sisters Mrs. Bessie Steele of Denison, Mrs. Lessie McClinton and Mrs. Jessie Scroggins of Bradley, Oklahoma.
The family will be at the funeral home from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday and at the family residence at other times.
