Services for Douglas Wade Fry, 33, of Ardmore, will be at 2
p.m., Thursday, Feb. 26, 2009, in Dowden Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment will follow in Hontubby Cemetery in Heavener, Okla.
Born July 18, 1975 in Fort Smith, Ark., to Mike and Toni Fry, he
went to rest in the arms of the Lord on the second month, 21st
day of 2009, at home in the comfort of his bed. He was preceded
in death by his grandparents, Kenneth and Zelma Formby and
Margret Lovell; great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Kirkland
and Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Chapman; and two aunts, Peggy Burge and
Jerry Vishkoff.
Douglas went through his school years in Poteau, Okla. and
graduated in 1993. His passion was his family and friends. His
loving kindness was a trademark; he was always a gentleman. He
loved football, fishing and the outdoors and all God’s
creatures. He was such a generous person. Everyone who knew
Douglas knew of his love of life. He will be so missed by so
many.
Survivors include his loving and long-time caregiver, his
mother Toni Fry, of the home; his father Mike Fry of Fort Smith,
Ark.; one brother, Todd Fry of Norman, Okla.; one half-brother,
Michael Fry of Fort Smith, Ark.; one stepbrother, Gregory
Williams of Fort Smith, Ark.; one stepsister, Dottie Atkins of
Fort Smith, Ark.; grandfather Orville Fry of Poteau, Okla.; five
aunts, Gaye Herron of Ardmore, Okla., Kathy Gregory and husband
Jimmy of Heavener, Okla., Mary Monks of Panama, Okla., Linda
Stroups of Bokoshe, Okla. and Sharon Steele of South Carolina;
three uncles, Kenneth, Ronnie and Jimmy Lovell, all of Panama,
Okla.; 18 cousins and many second cousins; numerous other
relatives and loved ones; and a host of beloved friends.
Arrangements are under the direction of Dowden Funeral Home,
Heavener, Okla. Interment will be in
Hontubby Cemetery near
Heavener.
