George Thomas Harris Sr., 83, of Fanshawe, passed away July
28, 2009, in Fanshawe.
He was born June 11, 1926, in Red Oak, to Lelan and Anna
(Dameron) Harris. He was an oilfield pumper and rancher and was
of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, George Thomas
Harris Jr.; one granddaughter, Jennifer Harris -Crose; two
brothers, Ira and Johnny Ray Harris.
He is survived by four sons, Thomas Harris and wife Norma of
Wister, Lee Harris and Martha of Fanshawe, Larry Harris and wife
Brenda of Red Oak, and Billy Joe Harris of Bull Hill; three
daughters, Ann Savage and husband Gene of Red Oak, Shirley Mosel
and husband Richard of Danville, Va., Susan Henderson and
husband Mark of Wichita Falls, Texas; a brother Ted and Nola
Harris of Fanshawe; three sisters, Betty June Kruseman of Castro
Valley, Calif., Emma Lois Marler of Wister and Willa Lee Divine
of Wichita Falls; ten grandchildren, Tammy, Jamie, Tommy, Julie,
Gina, Danny, Jonathan, Keith, Michael and Rena; 14
great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; numerous
other relatives, friends and loved ones.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Grace Manor
Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow service at
Hicks Chapel Cemetery
near Fanshawe.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Herrington, Randy Newby, Dan Bost,
Jimmy Don Newby, Jerrad Marcangeli and Bud Morgan. Honorary
pallbearer will be Johnny Ray Pope.
