Grady
C. Ollie Sr., 91, of Poteau passed away Monday, Oct. 6, 2008, in
Poteau. He was born April 9, 1917, in Calhoun, Okla. He was a
partner with Ollie Lumber Co.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2008, at First
Baptist Church in Poteau with the Rev. Phil McGehee officiating.
Interment will be at
Oakland Cemetery in Poteau.
Survivors are a daughter and son-in-law, Dolores and Larry Brown
of Poteau; son and daughter-in-law, Grady (Sub) and Judy Ollie
of Fort Smith; a sister and brother-in-law, Bernice and Jack
Johnson of Stigler; grandchildren, David F. Ollie of Hot
Springs, Brenda Ollie of Fort Smith, Brent Brown of Cameron and
Kendra Haggard of Tahlequah, Okla.; great-grandchildren, Brent
Brown Jr., Zane Chunn, Olivia Ollie and Elisabeth Haggard; other
relatives and loved ones; a host of beloved friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris in 2001. Grady
served as a deacon at First Baptist Church in Panama and Poteau.
He was a past president of Mid-America Lumber Association. Grady
was a Mason. He served in World War II with the U.S. Army.
Pallbearers will be R.L. Sockey, Mike Pritchett, Bert Corr, Bob
Dorey, John Williamson, Bob Lindstrom, Orvil Brand. Honorary
pallbearers will be First Baptist Church deacons.
