Civic Leader's Rifes Planned
WILBURTONT, Feb. 24-Mrs. Bob Perdue, Wilburton clubwoman and
civic leader, died at her home hero? Monday after an illness of
several weeks.
Services wiLl be at 10 a.m. Thursday in First Methodist church
with Rev. Justus Edmondson* Eufaula. officiating. Afternoon
services at 2 p.m. will be conducted in First Methodist church
at Heavener with Rev. Robert Harrison, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in the Hill
cemetery at Heavener under direction of the Burke Jones
funeral home.
Born at Heavener, Mrs. Perdue came to Wilburton in 1922 as a
high school teacher. Her father was the late Albert S. Johnston,
prominent merchant and banker.
Mrs. Perdue was a past district president of the seventh
district of Federated Womens clubs and was a past president of
the Twentieth Century club. She had served as county chairman of
the American Cancer society and at the time of her death was
district commander of the society’s Oklahoma division. She was a
member of the Oklahoma Writers club. A member of the Methodist
church. Mrs. Perdue was a past president of the Women’s Society
of Christian service.
She is survived by her husband. Bob Perdue. Wilburton attorney,
and a sister, Mrs. Wilmer Hartman and a niece. Mrs.
Hilda Grae Wynn, both of
Heavener.
