Michael Warren Bell, 34 of Poteau, passed away Sunday,
May 2, 2004, in Hot Springs, Ark. He was born June 6, 1969, at
Fort Polk, La. Michael spent his early years in the Oklahoma
City area. He was an Eagle Scout, enjoyed hunting and fishing,
and was an avid scuba diver. He was a 2-year letterman in
wrestling at Del City High School, from which he graduated in
1987. He also attended Rose State College and completed
vocational training. He married the former Leslie Thompson and
they made their home near Poteau in the Gilmore community. He
was employed by Planters Peanuts in Fort Smith, Ark. and dearly
loved his job. He was an active member of the Murry Spur Free
Will Baptist Church.
Michael was preceded in death by his mother, Linda (Williams)
Bell; his grandfather, Warren Williams; and an aunt, June
Williams.
Survivors include his wife of the home; a daughter, Rachel
Bell of the home; a son, Andrew Bell of the home; his father,
Sammy Bell; his maternal grandmother, Ruby Williams of Moore;
his aunt, uncle and cousins, Joe and Carol Minor, Breanne and
Jeffrey of Moore; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, the Rev.
C.L. and Joy Thomas of Spiro; his brother-in-law, Greg Thomas of
Spiro; a niece, Makayla of Spiro; numerous other relatives and
loved ones; and a host of beloved friends.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 6 at the Murry
Spur Free Will Baptist Church of Spiro with the Rev. C.L. Thomas
officiating. Burial will follow in
Oakland Cemetery
at Poteau under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of
Poteau.
