Inez Boggs POTEAU — Inez Boggs, 91, of Poteau died
Sunday, Oct. 10, 2004, in Poteau. She was born Jan. 24, 1913, in
Williams, Okla. She grew up in LeFlore County and moved with her
family to southern California just before World War II began.
She worked in defense plants and restaurants while raising her
family. She taught child evangelism and college Bible classes
and was ordained through Global Outreach Inc. in Spring Valley,
Calif. She and her husband sponsored the building of a church in
Korea through Gorden Lindsey of Christ for Nations in Dallas.
They moved back to Oklahoma in their retirement years. She was
president of the Poteau Chapter of Women’s Aglow from 1984 to
1986. She attended Hosanna Christian Fellowship Church until her
health hindered her attendance.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Evans & Miller Funeral
Home Chapel in Poteau with burial at
Leflore Cemetery in
Leflore.
She is survived by three daughters, Catherine Monroe of
Leflore, Patsy Cotarclo of Surprise, Ariz., and June Neeley of
Poteau; two sons, Roy Boggs of Leflore and Kenneth Boggs of
Waco, Texas; two sisters, Ethel Gist and Pat Holt, both of
Heavener; a brother, Welton Hines of Cornell, Wis.; 18
grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and 15
great-great-grandchildren. The family will visit with friends
from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
