Pallace Cooper, 98, of Poteau, passed away Friday, May
21, 2004. She was born Jan. 9, 1906 at Howe. She was baptized at
Forest Hill Methodist Church at the age of 14; and attended the
First Free Will Baptist Church of Poteau. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Cooper on Aug.
28, 1982; and a daughter, Betty Ruth Gassman on July 15, 1997.
Survivors include four grandchildren, Tony Cary of
Thornville, Ohio, Renetta Erickson of Washington, D.C., Gregory
Erickson of San Jose, Calif. and Gary Erickson of Fremont,
Calif.; six great-grandchildren; numerous other relatives and
loved ones; and a host of beloved friends.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 25 in Evans
Chapel of Memories at Poteau with the Rev. Jimmy D. Cook
officiating. Burial will follow in
Vaughn Cemetery at Gilmore
under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.
Pallbearers will be Bill J. Barber, Leo Ritter, David Stone,
Bob Wallace Cooper, David White and David Akins. Honorary
pallbearer will be Danny Baxter.
