Johnnie Lee DeWitt, 64, of Spiro, passed away Tuesday, April 6, 2004, in Fort Smith, Ark. He was born June 12, 1939 at Tahona, Okla. to Lonnie and Myrtle Ward DeWitt. He was a member of Birch Chapel Assembly of God and loved to hunt and fish. He worked for Orchid Papermill in Pryor for 20 years before his retirement.

He was preceded in death by his father; one brother, Tommie DeWitt; and one sister, Florene Dees.

Survivors include his wife, Aline of the home; one daughter, Renee Allen and husband Kenny of Cameron; two stepdaughters, Sheila Walker and husband Rick of Tahlequah and Connie McGee and husband Jay of Spiro; three sons, Ronnie DeWitt, Clifford DeWitt and wife Paula, all of Cameron, Kevin DeWitt of Ehrenberg, Ariz.; one stepson, Joe Weese and wife Delores of Muskogee; six sisters, Oleta Helton of Shady Point, Lucille Dees of Spiro, Betty DeWitt and Polly Desa DeWitt, both of Cameron, Doris Thomas of San Diego, Calif. and Nadine Wells of Muse; one brother, Donnie DeWitt of Wister; his mother, Myrtle DeWitt of Cameron; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 9 at the Birch Chapel Assembly of God with the Revs. Michael Tom and Bryan Fouts officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery under the direction of the Mallory Funeral Home of Spiro.
 

Pallbearers will be Leon Garner, David Garner, Rick Garner, Tommy DeWitt Jr., Gerald McRay and Daniel Edwards.
