Glessie Franklin, 88, of Spiro, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2004.
She was born Nov. 10, 1915 at Joplin, Mo. to Joseph Matthew and
Mary Francis (Welch) Clayton. She was a homemaker and attended Harvest
Hill Assembly of God.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jim Franklin;
three sons, John E. Franklin, Ferrell Franklin and Jimmy Franklin.
Survivors include four daughters, Lois Gragg, Julie Mae DeMato
and husband Johnny, all of Spiro, Carolyn Embry and husband Bill
of Okmulgee and Shirley Powell of Excelsior Springs, Mo.; four sons,
Richard Franklin and wife Marsha of Tulsa, Fred Franklin and wife
Judy, Pat Franklin and wife Thelma and Luke Franklin and wife Virginia,
all of Spiro; 31 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and
several great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 21 at Mallory-Martin
Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. O.M. Wilson and Wes McLaughlin
officiating. Burial will follow in
New Hope Cemetery under the direction
of Mallory Martin Funeral Home of Spiro.
Pallbearers will be Eddie Franklin, Amel Resch, Chad Benhardt,
Danny DeMato, Curtis Powell and Bill Embry.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Franklin and Kenneth Franklin..
