Louise Gregory, 83, of
Poteau, passed away Sunday, April 11, 2004. She was born Dec.
14, 1920 at Fairview to Mr. and Mrs. William B. Hale. She was a
retired teacher after 35 years. She attended Fairview School for
eight years and high school in Poteau, graduated in 1940 and
attended Eastern State College in Wilburton and Northeastern
State University in Tahlequah. She was married to Norman Gregory
in 1946. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Poteau,
the Poteau Flower & Garden Club, OEA, Retired Teachers and a
Charter member of Alpha Delta Kappa National Honorary Teachers
Sorority.
She was preceded in death by her husband in March 4, 1992.
Survivors include two daughters, Judy Miller and Renee and
Dale Fout, both of Poteau; three grandchildren, Lisa Miller,
Tiffany Fout and Justin Fout; one brother, W.B. Hale, two
sisters, Lucille Gregory and Kathleen Hale; a former son-in-law,
Louis Miller of Tulsa; other relatives and loved ones; and many
beloved friends.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 13 at the
First Baptist Church of Poteau with the Rev. Phil McGehee
officiating. Burial will follow in
Monroe Cemetery under the
direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.
