Melvin Grissell, 62, of Wister passed away Thursday, Sept. 23, 2004,
at Oklahoma City. He was born Jan. 25, 1942 at Deventer, Mo. He
was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a truck driver.
He was preceded in death by his father, Homer; and three brothers,
Gary and infant twins.
Survivors include two daughters, Jana and Joe Martin of LeFlore
and Sherri Grissell of Seattle, Wash.; his companion, Linda Grissell
of the home; one stepson, Dan Cook of Wister; five grandchildren;
his mother, Lorene M. Crisel of Grants Pass, Ore.; five sisters,
Betty Shorb and Janice Rucker, both of Medford, Ore., Edith Bissonette,
Linda Duvall and Peggy Moore, all of Grants Pass, Ore.; four brothers,
Larry Crisel of Grants Pass, Ore., Charles Crisel and Steve Crisel,
both of Medford, Ore. and Glen Crisel of Merlin, Ore.; numerous
nieces, nephews, other relatives and loved ones; and a host of beloved
friends.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23 at Ellis Chapel
Church at Wister with the Rev. Jack Covey officiating. Burial will
follow in Ellis Chapel Cemetery at Wister under the direction of
Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.
Pallbearers will be Jeromy Akers, Jake Donaho, Duane Donaho, Dennis
Donaho, Don Donaho and Eric Donaho.
