Mae Johnson, 93, of Wister, passed away Sunday, May 2,
2004, in Poteau. She was born Oct. 13, 1910 at Wister. She was a
member of Ellis Chapel Church in Wister and she was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Otto Johnson; two
sons, John O. and Tony M.; and one daughter, Nancy Gayle Butler.
Survivors include three daughters, Bobbie Garner and Linda Fite,
both of Wister and Doris Shelton of Shady Point; five sons,
Hershel Leo Johnson of McAllen, Texas, Elton Johnson and David
Johnson, both of Wister, George Johnson of Howe and Dennis
Johnson of Wichita Falls, Texas; one sister, Ruth Qualls of
Wister; 28 grandchildren; 64 great-grandchildren; and 28
great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 4 at Ellis Chapel
Church in Wister with the Revs. Jack Covey and Clyde Steelman
officiating. Burial will follow in
Ellis Chapel Cemetery at
Wister under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of
Poteau.
Pallbearers will be her sons.
