Ruby Marie Kuykendall, 92, of Wister, passed away
Saturday, May 1, 2004, at Fort Smith, Ark. She was born Oct. 22,
1911 at Pocola.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Berry and Hattie
(Scrivener) Harmon; eight brothers and sisters; four children;
two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, J.C. Kuykendall of the home; her
children, Marie and Kenneth Ford of Little Ax, Vernoyse and Bob
Ford, Lawanna and Jack Collins, Linda Clough, and Brenda and Joe
Hendon, all of Wister, Ruby and George Horton of Howe, Gary and
Dianne Henson of Shell City, Mo., Joyce and Larry Davis of
Arcadia, Gwinda and Bill Quarry of Poteau, Shirley and Marty
Thomas, Carroll Kuykendall, Gary Kuykendall and Terry
Kuykendall, all of Lodi, Calif.; 47 grandchildren; 79
great-grandchildren; 28 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters,
Evelyene and Ray Harris of Ada and Lillian and Bob Hunt of
Poteau; one brother, Warren and Mildred Harmon of Poteau; and
206 foster children.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 5 at the
Assembly of God Church in Wister with the Revs. Frankie Harris
and Jim Cook officiating. Burial will follow in
Ellis Chapel Cemetery at
Wister under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of
Poteau.
Pallbearers will be Denver Dickson, Dwayne Benefield, Jim
Goodnight, Tommy Ford, Art Drury and Johnny Harris.
