John C. 'Jay' Peerson, 75, of
Poteau, passed away Thursday, June 24, 2004. He was born Feb.
14, 1929, at Bokoshe. He was a member of the Assembly of God
Church in Texas. He was married to Joye for 48 years. He was a
32nd degree Mason and the owner/operator of John's Auto Sales in
Poteau for 20 years. He loved ranching and working with his
horses - the love of his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents,
Loyd and Hazel Peerson.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years,
Joye Peerson of the home; their children, Ronnie, Rhonda and
Linda; eight grandchildren, Joshua, Sunshine, Jay R., Matthew,
Courtney, Nicholas, Dakota and Cheyenne; one brother and
sister-in-law, Lawrence and Wanda Peerson of Vinita; three
sisters and brothers-in-law, Dean and Arnold Newton of Harrison,
Ark., Pat Fox of LeQuire, Judy and Harold Crowe of Hampton, Ga.;
numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and loved ones; and a
host of beloved friends.
Services will be held at 10 a.m.
Saturday, June 26 at Evans Chapel of Memories in Poteau with the
Rev. Jimmy D. Cook officiating. Burial will follow in
Mt. View Cemetery in
Glendale under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of
Poteau.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Ford, Jeff
Shockley, Mark Peerson, Podie Meeks, James "Hoot" Jackson and
Preston Cloud.
