Betty Powers, 78, of Spiro, passed away Sunday, May 2,
2004. She was born Sept. 9, 1925, at Cartersville. She loved to
quilt and sew; did lots of crafts; loved to travel and go to
garage sales. She was of the Christian faith and attended church
services regularly. She was an insurance agent.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elzia; one son,
Michael; two brothers, Dan and Dale; and one sister, Eunice.
Survivors include four sons, Ray Price of Citrus Heights,
Calif., Alfred Price of Bokoshe, Marion Price of Sapulpa, Garry
Price of Cookson; two daughters, Karen Erwin of Pocola and Donna
Schafer of Spiro; five brothers, Levi Drummond, Oliver Drummond,
Ernest Drummond Jr. and Carol Drummond, all of Cartersville and
Ray Drummond of Springdale, Ark.; three sisters, Mary Fuller of
Webbers Falls, Janett Davis of Jasper, Ala., and Genevia
Williams of Tulsa; 26 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren;
other relatives and loved ones; and a host of beloved friends.
The family will visit with friends at the funeral home from 7
to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 5.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 6 at Pocola
Christian Fellowship with the Rev. Eldon Burnett officiating.
Burial will follow in Old
Cache Cemetery at Keota under the direction of Evans &
Miller Funeral Home of Pocola.
