Odell Earl Story, 82, of Muskogee, formerly of Spiro,
passed away Monday, Nov. 8, 2004. He was born March 27, 1922 at
Stigler to Jesse and Ocie (Hill) Story. He served in the U.S.
Navy in the Pacific Theater as gunner's mate second class. He
was a retired school teacher. He was a member of the NEA, OEA
and the N Club at NSU
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife Velma of the home; one daughter,
Janice Ward of Muskogee; two sisters, Faye Ary of broken Arrow,
Beulah Sampson and husband R.G. of Stigler; a sister-in-law,
Mary Floyd of Stigler; three brothers, Irvin Story of Mobile,
Ala., Arthur Story and wife Evelyn of Millington, N.J. and Jesse
Rae and wife Andre of Rapid City, S.D.; one granddaughter, Terri
Ward Clark and husband Mike of Muskogee; and one great-grandson;
numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 12 at the Spiro
First Baptist church with the Rev. Lin Jones officiating. Burial
will follow in Spiro City
Cemetery under the direction of Mallory Martin Funeral Home
of Spiro. Military rites conducted by the Veterans of Foreign
Wars Post 4446 of Stigler.
Pallbearers will be Pat Clemmt, Bill Barnett, Chuck
Forrester, Dwight Blankenship and Jack Dobbins.
