Atha (McCann) Williams, 84, of Cowlington, passed away
Saturday, May 1, 2004. She was born Oct. 3, 1919 at Bokoshe to
John and Jessie (Estes) McCann. She was a homemaker and a member
of the Cowlington Church of Christ. She loved to watch all
sports, especially baseball and basketball. She loved people and
working in her garden.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Cassie
Cosgrove and Lois Rhodes; two brothers, Earl McCann and Lewis
McCann.
Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Olen Williams of the
home; one daughter, Faye Ward and husband Daryl of Jasper,
Texas; one sister, Hester Gargus of Spiro; two grandsons, Scotty
Ward and wife Karen of Jasper, Texas and Randy Ward of
Palestine, Texas; one great-granddaughter, Lauren Ward of
Jasper, Texas.
Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 3 at the Mallory
Chapel with Mr. Charles Loum officiating. Burial followed in
New Hope Cemetery under
the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Spiro.
Pallbearers were Gary Don Gargus, Bud Cosgrove, Lendel Vines,
Joe Wells, Jeff Curbow, Don Garrett.
Honorary pallbearers were J.D. Gist, Bob Gist, Ben Kennedy, J.B.
Adams, Jack Lowry.
