Williams Funeral Rites
Funeral service for Charles Thomas Williams, 78, of Heavener
was conducted Wednesday afternoon at the First Baptist Church.
Rev. Paul McDaniel and Rev. Leonard Sullivan, pastor of the
church officiated.
Burial was in Heavener
Memorial Park under directions of Dowden Funeral home.
Graveside rites were conducted by the Oddfellow Lodge.
Charley, as he was known to him many friends, died Monday at
his home.
Born March 23, 1889 in Dickson County, Tenn. Mr. Williams was
a retired pharmacist. He moved here in 1921, went to Poteau in
1932 and then came back to Heavener in 1945. Mr.
Williams was a member of the loving Baptist Church and the
Oddfellow Lodge.
Survivors include one son, Ralph of Sapulpa; two daughters,
Mrs. Helen Ratterree of Jacksonville, Fla., and Mrs. Jane
Huggins of Dayton, Oh.
Two brothers, Roy and Harlan, both of Heavener, four sisters,
Mr. Della Southerland of Birmingham; Mrs. Etta Pride of Dallas,
Mrs. Tula Carson and Mrs. Juanita Maddux, both of Memphis, four
grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Photo was taken in March when he helped a local drug store.
In 1959, Mr. Williams was honored for 50 year as a registered
pharmacist.
