James R. 'Ruben' Harbuck, 92, of Heavener, passed away
Sunday, Sept. 5, 2004, in Heavener. He was a graduate of Yuba
High School near Durant, he served four years in the Marines, he
was a disabled veteran, worked in an aircraft plant in Tulsa
during World War II. He was a farmer and rancher and worked with
the LeFlore County Sheriff's office and the Heavener Police
Department. He was a 32 Degree Mason with the Heavener Masonic
Lodge, a deacon and member of the Perry Chapel Baptist Church as
was a Sunday School Superintendent for many years. He was an
avid outdoorsman, loved hunting and fishing, which he continued
to do until near the age of 90.
He was preceded in death by his wife
Maxine;
on granddaughter, Kristy; and one brother.
Survivors include one daughter, Melissa Clubb and husband
Kenneth of Fort Smith, Ark.; two sons, Jim Harbuck and wife
Paula of Oologah and Joe Harbuck and wife Peggy of Poteau; eight
grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 7 in
Memorial Park Cemetery at
Heavener under the direction of Dowden Funeral Home of Heavener.
