Juanita Rowland, 83, of Spiro, passed away Sunday,
Sept. 5, 2004, at Spiro. She was born April 15, 1921 at Stoney
Point to James and Bertha (McLean) Goff. She was a cook
for the Spiro School System for 32 years and loved cooking for
her family, which was her passion and she loved spending time
with all of them.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert E.
Rowland; three sisters, Pauline Ward, Myrtle Potter, Lucille
Goff; and a brother, Eugene Goff.
Survivors include two daughters, Melba McKinney and husband
David and Vicki Anderson and husband Raymond, all of Spiro; one
son, Odell Rowland and wife Deana of Spiro; three sisters,
Jessie Timmons and Louise Shoopman, both of Keota and Marie
Autry of Madera, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and 18
great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 8 at the
Mallory-Martin Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Lynn Jones and
Eddie Blankenship officiating. Burial will follow in Spiro City
Cemetery under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of
Spiro.
Pallbearers will be David Self, Danny Self, Henry Jones, H.
B. Hayes, Joe Ray Richison and Dub W.C. Means.
