Clarence Arthur Kerner

Clarence Arthur "Bud" Kerner was born in Kansas City, KS on November 3, 1921 to William A. and Mary Alice (Mumaw) Kerner. He passed away on March 13, 2011 in Kingfisher, OK.
Clarence married Lois Prince on September 7, 1945 and she preceded him in death on December 19, 2009. To this marriage two sons were born, Stephen Kerner of Elk Grove, CA and William Kerner of Cashion, OK.
Clarence graduated from Rosedale High School in Kansas City in 1941 where he was known for his athletic abilities, especially running track. He served four years in the U.S. Coast Guard as a radar operator during WWII. He was employed as a sheet metal worker and was a member of Local Union #2 and was their Union Rep until he retired with a heart condition in 1975.
Clarence worked and lived in Kansas City, MO until his retirement and moved to Warsaw, MO and lived on a small farm until December 1988 when Frances had a stroke and she had to retire. They moved to Cashion in December 1988 to be near their son and daughter-in-law, William and Carol Kerner.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 18, 2011 at Cashion United Methodist Church with Reverend Felecia Hensley officiating. Interment will follow at Cashion Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Guthrie, OK. |
