Mrs. Harriett Davis, 95 or 304 S. E. 41, died Monday in her home after na illness of about a year and a half. Funeral services will be in the Hunter funeral home at 10 a.m. Thursday. Mrs. Davis came here with her husband, the late Marimon Davis, from Logan county in 1910. Davis operated a shoe shop at S. E. 44 and Shields prior to his death in 1928. Mrs. Davis was born in Posey county, Ind., and was married there in 1875. She and her husband came to Logan county near Crescent in about 1890, and operated a farm there until they came here. She was a member of the Capitol Hill Baptist Church. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. R. B. Elder, 304 SE 41, Mrs. J. F. Hardin, 2339 NW 16, and Mrs. Ethel Alexander 718 NW 30, two sons, James Davis, Bakersfield, CA, and Elmer Davis, Leesville, LA, a brother, C. C. (Columbus) Moore, House Springs, MO: 13 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. |
