RYAN is located on the C.
C. & R'y in Pickens county, Chickasaw Nation, thirty-three miles north
of Bowie, Texas. It is located in and surrounded by the most fertile soil
in the United States. Red River, with its extensive valleys of the richest
loam, lies south and west, its nearest point being only three miles. Big
Beaver Creek and the two Mud Creeks, with their thousands of acres of the
most productive valleys, surround Ryan from east to west. On the north
all the cereals, as well as all kinds of grasses, fruits and vegetables,
grow to perfection, also cotton. Ryan has a fine roller flour mill, cotton
gin, good schools and churches, and nearly all lines of business are represented.
The climate is healthy, and homeseekers should visit this enterprising
and rapidly growing town.
