MINUTES OF THE MOUNT PLEASANT CHURCH
Tomahushi July 20, 1856
Session met and was opened with prayer.
Present Rev. C. C. Copeland, Min.
Elders:

J. Frazier
Jacob Davis, Charles Tilluk (cold.) Lewis Potts
and his wife Nancy appeared as candidates for admission to the church. The two
former were examined and received. The two latter had been members of the
Baptist church, and for several years had desired to unite with this church.
After some examination with them individually, Resd. that they be received.
Tonihka a member of this church, who had
neglected his duties appeared and cofessed his faults and professed penitence
for the same. Session being satisfied with the evidence of his penitence Resd.
that he be restored.

Jimsey Wright, a member of this church came
before the session and confessed that she had been guilty of a breach of the 7th
commandment. Upon conversing with her, it appeared that she had been deceived
under a solemn promise of marriage. Session being satisfied with the evidence
she gave of penitence, Resd. that she be restored. Closed with prayer.

Lucy who was once a member of the Chickasaw
Presbyterian church appeared and professed penitence for her long neglect of
duty and all her past sins. Resd. that she be received to the communion of this
church.
