MINUTES OF THE MOUNT PLEASANT CHURCH
Bennington, April 1, 1860
The session met and was opened with prayer.

Isaac Folsom a ruling elder at Mt. Pleasant
church and Suly his wife requested of this session to be dismissed and
recommended to the care of the Bennington church. Resd. that their request be
granted.

Elders:

The delinquent members of this church, are
summoned to appear before the session on the 11th day of August next at 12
o'clock being the day preceeding the communion season at Tomahushi. The
following person, who are known to be by common fame, living in habitual neglect
of christian duties, viz:
George Hall, Jackson Frazier, Anumpochubi and Simon Mosely.

Pursuant to be previous call, Siney Moseley, a
member of this church, appeared before the session and confesses her sin and
guilt of living with a man who was not her husband. Upon examination it was
ascertained that she had left him and was living by herself. After censuring her
former conduct, she being penitent, Resolved, that she be recommended to a full
communion of the Church.
George Hall and Anumpochubi members of the
church, having grossly neglected their religious duties, appeared according to
previous summons. After counseling and exhorting them with brotherly kindness
and fidelity to return to their christian duties - they each positively refused
to live a pious life, and each declared that they have no interest in Christ or
for his Gospel, therefore Resd. that they be excommunicated from the privileges
of the Church as unworthy members of the Church of Christ.
Aug. 8th Joseph P. Folsom a member of
this church, who was suspended for the breach of the 7th Commandment, appeared
before the session and confessed his guilt and sin against the church of Christ.
He being penitent and being satisfied of his decided reformation, Resolved, that
he be restored to a full communion of the Church.
Jackson Frazier a member of this church,
appeared before the session by citation and confessed his unchristian conduct in
getting drunk and other crimes. But his penitence not being satisfactory to the
session he was advised to meet with the session at some future meeting.
Simon Mosley also, in obedience to a previous
citation appeared and confessed his guilt in getting drunk. And he himself
unworthy of a christian, still he has not neglected his prayers. Though he
appeared penitent, yet his conduct has been so heinous and so recent he was
requested to meet with the Session at some future meeting.

David Perkins and his wife Electa, with their
baptized children, Henry, Simon, Nathaniel, Isabel, King David, Israel, and
Rowena, presented a letter of dismission from the Bennington Church, and of the
recommendation to the watch and care of the Mt. Pleasant church, Resd. that they
be received.
Closed the meeting with prayer.
