MINUTES OF THE MOUNT PLEASANT CHURCH
Tomahuski, Jan 11, 1867
The session met and was opened with prayer.

Elders:
David Perkins
Chester Holden
Bissel Couch a member of this church appeared
for advice and counsel on a question touching his standing as a member of the
church, because of expressing his disapprobation with anger toward a man who had
committed adultery with his wife. The session being satisfied no discipline was
necessary, but exhorted him to more prayer and watchfulness.
Lizzie McCurtain appeared as a candidate for
admission to the Church, but living with a man not in accordance with the
existing law of the land - she was recommended first to be married lawfully,
then apply for admission to the Church.

Elders:

Mrs. Mary Perkins presented herself before the
Session as a candidate for admission into the Church. Stated that she was once a
member in the Methodist Church not from her own free will but from the wish of
her mother. And on account of the irreligion of her former husband she left off
her religious duties now wishes to be received into the Church on profession of
her faith. Resolved that she be received.
King Perkins and Isreal Perkins baptized
members of this Church, appeared and requested admission to the privileges of
full membership. After a satisfactory conference with King Perkins as to his
knowledge and liety, Resolved that he be received.
But Isreal Perkins who was once before
deferred, was again deferred to another time on account of age and also on
account of the want of experimental knowledge.

Boggy Depot, May 12, 1867
The Mt. Pleasant Church session met and was opened with prayer.

By invitation L. Moseley, Elder Chickasaw Ch.
Jackson Aioklatobi and Turner Turnbull baptized members of this Church appeared
and requested admission to the privileges of full membership. After a
satisfactory examination as to their religious experience, Resolved that they be
received.
Sam McGee a member and Ruling Elder of this
Church appeared and expressed his penitence and sorrow for sin for which he was
suspended, and requested to be restored to full privileges of the Church. After
a full examination the Session being satisfied with his penitence and
reformation, Resolved that he be restored.
Mrs. T. B. Turnbull a member of this church
appeared and confessed her general declension in religious duties, but not being
guilty of any known of actual sin, but having lately resumed her duties and a
ward of exhortation to more watchfulness and faithfulness being given, Resolved
that she continue to enjoy the full privileges of the Church.
Isa Ann appeared as a candidate for admission
to the Church, but after examination as to her religious experience was was
found very deficient in her proper understanding of Christian faith, Resolved,
that she be deferred to another time.
Alfred Wright, his wife Bessey Wright and
Bissel Couch, at their own request, were dismissed to Methodist Church.
