MINUTES OF THE MOUNT PLEASANT CHURCH
Mt. Pleasant July 11, 1869
The session met and was opened with prayer.
Present Allen Wright Min.
There being no Elders present to perform the
Session business it was deemed best under the circumstances to examine
candidates for admission into the church.
Lucy Wilson formerly a member of Good Water
Church appeared before the Session and confessed that ther being ministers and
Elders and no preaching maintained there she gradually became cold and finally
left off her religious duties until she heard the preaching of the gospel she
returned to her duty by repentance and prauer and faithe. And requested to be
received. After examination and ther being no way of receiving a letter of
dismission from Good Water Church, Resolves that she be received on profession
of her faith.
Harris Potter a backslidding member of Good
Land Church appeared before the Session for admission into the church. He
confessed that he had left off his religious duties sometime before the war
commenced, but having returned to his duties by repentenance, prayer and faithe.
After examination it was thought best to receive him on profession of his faith.
Resolved that he be received.
Samuel Daily a member of this church appeared
before the session and confessed a sin of neglecting his religious duties, but
having returned to his duties for nearly year, was deemed best to be
restored. Therefore resolved that he be restored.

Elders:
David Perkins
Simon Mosley, a member of this church, was
suspended in Aug 1860, for various reasons unchristain conduct appeared
voluntarily before the Session and requested to be restored to the Church
priviledges. After full examination as to his penitence, Resolved that he be
restored. At his own request he with his baptized children, viz: Fobes,
Talmerson, Harlan, and Islam Mosley, were dismissed to the watch and care of
Wapanucka Church.

Elizabeth Felatah appeared before the Session
as a candidate for admission to the Church. After a full examination as to her
piety and religious experience, Resolved, that she be recieved.

Mrs. Nelly Lawrence appeared as a candidate for
admission into the church. On examination, though, the Session was satisfied
with her statements of faith and religious experience, yet not being married to
a man with whom he lives her case was deferred to a meeting to be held at Boggy
Depot on the 3rd Sabbath in Jan. A. D. 1870.
Mrs. Mane Holden a member of this church
appeared and confessed her sin in getting angry and whipping another woman, but
having professed repentance, therefore, Resolved, that she be restored to a full
communion.
