Dorothy M. "Dottie" Meeks, 63, of Howe, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2003. She was a longtime resident of the area and a member of the Heavener Christian Church.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Katrina Benefield; and her father, Austin Duncan.
Survivors include her husband Gerald of the home; one daughter, Shelley R. Meeks of Wister; her mother, Vera Duncan of Heavener; two sisters, Genevieve Wiles of Heavener and Carol Wright of Kansas City, Mo.; three brothers, Lemuel Duncan of Meridian, Miss., Wilmer Duncan of LeFlore and Lex Duncan of San Antonio, Texas; several nieces and nephews.
The family will be at the funeral home for visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 26.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 27 at Wister First Church of the Nazarene. Burial will follow in
Ellis Chapel Cemetery at Wister under the direction of Dowden Funeral Home of Heavener.
Pallbearers will be her nephews.
Honorary pallbearers will be her nieces.
