MIDWEST CITY Genevieve C. "Gen" Gosser Black, longtime resident of Midwest City, born Sept. 30, 1923, in Shelby, OH, died Friday, May 4, 2018. She was married to Earl Black and she mothered five children. She was preceded in death by her husband Earl; her parents, John and Anna Gosser; brothers, Francis, John, and Howard; sisters, Mary and Martha; granddaughter, Sarah Black Ritter; and great-grandson, Donovan Clayton. She is survived by a sister, Marcella Gosser Ensman, of Shelby, OH; her children and spouses, John and Jody Black, James and Donna Black, both of Midwest City; David and Shirley Black Quine, of Richardson, TX; Robert and Katherine Black, of Oklahoma City; and Kenneth and Frankie Wood-Black, of Ponca City. Memorials may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society at St. Philip Neri Church, 1107 Felix Pl, Midwest City, OK 73110. A Rosary will be held May 8, 2018, at 7 p.m. at St. Philip Neri. On May 9 at 10 a.m., there will be a Mass of Christian Burial, also at St. Philip Neri.
