Maps of Oklahoma Counties

The following maps are detailed county maps scanned and presented with permision of the Oklahoma Highway Department. They may be freely distributed or printed and included in publications as reference material, but must not be resold.

The scale of the original paper maps were 1/2" = 1 mile and the original maps were about 15" x 24" in size. Due to the size of some counties, more than one map is required to cover the county. All maps were published as black on white, paper prints.

Scanning of the paper copies was done at 200 dots per inch (DPI), in black/white (binary) mode. All text referring to the Oklahoma Highway Department was electronically removed. The resulting digital files were rendered in TIFF Group 4, Level 6, file format as 'monolithic' files using Group 4 file compression. The file sizes will vary, with some being as large as 200K bytes. A 200K byte file can take upwards of 3 minutes to download with a 28,800 baud modem.
