"I was married to W.M. Kemp, whose father was a descendant of Levi Kemp. Our cash on hand was one dollar. Mr. Kemp had thirty cents and I have seventy cents..."

"Every Indian child was registered at Tishomingo. Grandpa Kemp had a medal belonging to Levi Colbert which he had received from services during the French and Indian War. Joe Kemp in Tishomingo has the medal unless he sent it to the Oklahoma Historical Society."

[Mrs. Kemp was the wife of W.M. Kemp, Chickasaw. Mrs. Kemp moved to Indian Territory with her parents from Fannin County near Bonham, TX in 1891, locating near Yornsby.]
