In the matter of the application of Nory Sarcoxie for the enrollment of herself, husband and one child. She being duly sworn by Commissioner Breckinridge testified as follows-

Q. Was that your maiden name? A. Yes, sir

Q. You were never married except to him? A. No, sir

Q. Was he ever married before? A. No, sir

Q. Have you your marriage license with you? A. Yes, sir

Q. What is your husbands full name please? A. Ruben Sarcoxie

Q. How old is he? A. 25

Q. Was he born in the Cherokee Nation? A. Yes, sir

Q. And lived here all his life? A. Yes, sir

Q. Give me the name of his father? A. John Sarcoxie

Q. Is he dead or alive? A. He is alive

Q. Please give me his mother's name? A. Elizabeth Sarcoxie

Q. Is she dead or alive? A. Dead

Q. What is the name of your child? A. Roy Lee Sarcoxie

Q. How old is he? A. 3 years old

Q. He is too young to be on the roll of 1896 - have you a certificate of his birth? A. No, sir

The applicant produces a certificate showing that she and her husband were married on the 8th of October, 1894, by the Rev. John Sarcoxie.

Q. Have you any one here who knows that you were married in 1894? A. Yes, sir, there is Mr. Halfmoon, who was there,

Fielding Halfmoon called as a witness and after being duly sworn by Commissioner Breckinridge testified as follows-

Q. How old are you? A. 40

Q. What is your post office? A. Bartlesville

Q. How long have you lived in the Cherokee Nation? A. 32 years

Q. Do you know this lade here, Mrs. Nory Sarcoxie? A. Yes, sir

Q. Do you know her husband? A. Yes, sir

Q. When were they married? A. I don't know the exact date, I was there then they married.

Q. Have they been married as much as six years ago this fall? A. Yes, sir I think so

Q. Was it in October, 1894? A, Yes, sir in the fall

Q. You think it was about six years ago? A. Yes, sir

The certificate is returned to applicant

The applicant applies for the enrollment of herself, husband and one child. Her husband is identified on the 1880 and the 1896 rolls as an Adopted Delaware; he has lived in the Cherokee Nation ever since his enrollment in 1880, and he will be listed now for enrollment as an adopted Delaware. The applicant is shown to have married her husband in 1894 and they have lived together ever since. She is one the roll of 1896 and will be listed now for enrollment as a Cherokee by intermarriage. When the Commission is supplied with a certificate of birth as to the child, Roy Lee Sarcoxie he will be listed for enrollment as a Cherokee-Delaware.
