MYRTIE PAULINE BYRUM

Funeral services for Myrtie Pauline Byrum, 86, Atoka, were conducted Sunday, December 10 at 2 pm at the Atoka Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jeff Holland officiating.

Burial was in Green Meadows Cemetery under the direction of Atoka Funeral Home.

A retired seamstress and school lunchroom cook, she died December 7, 1995 at Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Atoka where she was a resident.

Born November 28, 1909 at Caney, she was the daughter of George Mattison Adair and Erma Catherine Gilbert Adair. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Atoka.

She was married to Vernon H. Byrum on October 23, 1926 at Chickasha. He preceded her in death May 23, 1936.

Also preceding her in death were her mother, Erma Catherine (Gilbert) Adair; her father George Mattison Adair; a sister Georgia Lou Childress; a brother Joe Adair; a son-in-law Alfred Lee Tankersley.

Survivers include a son, Dale Byrum and wife Barbara of Stigler, three daughters, Erma Tankersley, and Elma Lou Ray and husband, Tinker all of Atoka; Joyce Connelly and husband Bert, Coudcroft, N.M.; 10 graandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one brother; Royal Adair, Midlothian, Texas; three sisters Bernice Hoffhines, Dallas, Texas; Ruthylene Hall, Colorado Springs, Co.; Ryby Emert of Durant; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Pallbearers were Mike Adair, Dennis Adair, Phillip Adair, Gilbert Emert, Bob Childress, and Kevin Emert.
