Funeral services were August 29 for Marion G. "Yank" Hembree a 62-year-old Atoka man who passed away on August 25. Rev. Steve O'Kelly and Bud Pitts conducted the services at the Harmony Baptist Church with Atoka Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Interment was in Farris Cemetery.

He was born December 10, 1905 in Gertie, Indian Territory the son of J. M. Hembree and Mary M. Lowe Hembree.

Survivors include his wife, Mae Hembree and five children: Joyce Woodruff of Oklahoma City, Bob Hembree of Park Forest, IL.. Wilma Livingston, Freda Hutson and Marion Hembree of Atoka; Seven grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren; 4 sisters: Lovis Cullens of Harlengen, TX. Mary Jane Standifer of Oildale, CA., Jimmie Bowman and Bertha Bryant of Oklahoma City. Four brothers: Mike Hembree of Pampa, TX. Gar Hembree of Ira, TX., Frank Hembree of Sulphur and Harmon Hembree of Oklahoma City.

Pall bearers were Charley L. Rowland, Dude Reasor, Tom Clayburn, Cecil Fredler, Herschel Luman and James Thompson.
 

Ella Mae (Houchin) Hembree, 73 Atoka, died September 15, at Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas. A housewife, she was born June 11, 1909 at Blue, Ok., and was the daughter of E. B. Houchin and Nora Deaton Houchin. She was married to M. G. "Yank" Hembree on August 3, 1927 in Farris.

Funeral services were held Saturday Sept. 18, at 2 p.m. at the Harmony Baptist Church with Rev. James Crowson officiating. Burial was in the Farris Cemetery under the direction of Atoka Funeral Home

She is survived by three daughters, Wilma Swindell and Freda Smith, both of Colbert; and Joyce Jones, Eufaula; two sons, Marion Hembree, Atoka; and Bob Hembree, Jackson, New Jersey; seven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren; one brother, Idis Houchin, Big Springs, TX. four sisters, Nona Sanders, Denton, TX. Maggie Cordell, Doyce Parks and Lois Hendrix all of Oklahoma City; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Munroe Cochran, Marvin Lowe, Toy Marlow, Russell Lane, M. J. Lovell, Floyd Gene Howard and Ray Littleton.
